National SCITT Hubs
We are delighted to be working with The National Mathematics and Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (NMAPS), a Department of Education (DfE) initiative designed to give Mathematics and Physics trainees the best experience during their Initial Teacher Training.
Trainees will be based in schools with bespoke subject specialist training programmes, delivered by outstanding practitioners and in conjunction with the national subject associations. On successful completion of the programme, trainees will be awarded both QTS and PGCE.
Charles Read Academy will be offering supernumerary training places with NMAPS in Mathematics and Physics for which DfE bursaries are available. We would be delighted to receive applications via the DfE Apply site. For more information please visit www.nmapscitt.org.uk
Maths and Physics
If you would like to train as a Maths or Physics teacher, you can do so through the National Maths and Physics SCITT – a route that privileges subject specific training on the ground, with experienced practitioners.
Charles Read Academy is the lead school for the East Midlands Hub of the National Maths and Physics SCITT with Professional Studies training days taking at the David Ross Education Trust head office in Loughborough. Applications can be made via Apply for teacher training by searching for National Mathematics and Physics SCITT and selecting the East Midlands Hub.
The PGCE is awarded by University of Buckingham for Maths and Physics trainees qualifying through this route.
