Food
At Barnes Wallis we actively encourage our students to contribute their views and ideas through the Student Council and representation upon project groups.
We are aim to ensure that all aspects of food and nutrition in school promote health and well-being, this includes providing healthy food choices and increasing knowledge and awareness of food issues using the curriculum.
We welcome discussion with students and parents/ carers about our menu choices and always aim to support students who have allergies or special requirements.
We have a modern servery providing dishes such as; stir fry, curry, chilli and pasta along with the already popular range of traditional dishes such as roast lunch and fish & chips. We also offer jacket potatoes with a range of toppings, sandwiches, baguettes and wraps. The décor has created a café style environment with beech furniture, a high bar feature.
We operate a cashless catering system. This means no more worries about carrying cash or losing a swipe card, resulting in students saving money and benefiting from a faster service.
Our facilities offer a social dining environment which the students can be proud of and which compares with modern restaurant experiences.
Our Menu
Our popular meal deal options are:
- Hot main and pudding/ cake or small drink (milkshake/ small water/ fruit cup)
- Cold meal deal sandwich/ cake/ small drink
All of our dishes are analysed to ensure we fully comply with the strict nutrient based standards for school lunches as set out by the Government. This helps to provide a balanced diet for those students who dine at school.
